HELP! I'm Suffocating!

Ever felt that you no longer can breathe. Surrounded by pressures given by others, wanting you to perform more than you can do? You seem to be lost in the cross roads with too many directions pointing you everywhere. There are so many things you need to do, that all seems important, all seems you must do, all needs your attention.

This is overwhelming. The work you are doing is screaming for your attention not including the continuous addition of work to your backlog. Back home, your family needs your attention? Let alone the problems that would arise from conflicts. You are stressed out, that you don't have a good night's rest. Where is your time alone? Every day you are facing the expectations of others, what about me? Who is going to hear me out? Who is caring for me? Who cares? Why am I only the one giving and giving? I no longer can breathe, I need my space, I need my air. I am suffocating.

How do we get out of this bad fix? As much as we hope and pray that there would be a miracle for someone to drop in and solve all the problems for you. Unfortunately, there is no easy way out of this mess. You need to get on top of this mess and sort things out.

Focus on what is important

There may be hundreds of things you need to address to, you wouldn't have the attention and energy to solve each one of them. You have to prioritise them. Filter and fish out those that are the most important things you must do now. Once you have removed the big rocks out of the way, the rest would be easy for you.

Spend some personal time alone

Where do I find the time to be alone when I don't even have much time to sleep? This is why we need it even more. When you do not find time, time will simply slip away without you knowing. When you are clouded by so many things and can't see clearly. This is the time you take a step back from everything. Take an overview look at it. Is this what you want? By solving this issue, does it bring you another step closer to what you want or away from what you want? By spending some time alone, it helps you re-align your focus, your aims, and your goals in life.

Get some morale boosters

When all is down, you are really down there is no doubt with it. You need to remind yourself, when you are at the lowest point of your life, UP is the only direction it will head to. Bite on it. It is tough, no doubts. Just bite on it. The silver lining is just beyond this storm you are in. The time you think you should give up, that's the time when the breakthrough is just another step after. Seek help if you really need it, we are all human and we need someone to tell us the things we can't really see. Hang in there.

Remember to breathe, Remember to smile, Remember to love, Remember you are here for a reason. Every adversity brings opportunities to learn from and to grow.
