By:Suryaratna Chandrashekar

Staying motivated at work is not always easy. No job is perfect, and everyone has a bad day sometimes, but if you try some or all of these tips, you will start to see that you are having more good days than bad.

Change your mindset

Beliefs can alter everything. One thing that will help is to commit to having a positive mindset. Start the day with a bright, positive attitude that work is going to be wonderful today. The magic formula is to be happy right now. Try to find something each day to be happy about and this will start to affect how you feel at work, you'll start to be more motivated, and you'll be a happier worker.

Set Goals

Break your workday down into hours and then tackle then hardest jobs first. Give yourself a set time to complete each task and reward yourself when you complete them on time. Then move on to easier projects so by the time the day is over, you will have accomplished your daily goals and feel some satisfaction in a job well done.

Bring something from home with you

This doesn't mean bring your bed or a recliner into work, but many work places allow you to personalize your workspace. This can be done by bringing in pictures of your children, spouse or pets. These can keep you going because you know that you are helping to provide for them. Just remember to keep it in line with company policies.

Find what tools work best for you

If you do a lot of writing, find the pen that works best for you. One that fits right in between your fingers, writes well, and seems to fit you. You might even try changing the color as some people subconsciously react better to different color inks. The same goes for any other tools you may need to do your job. Use tools that you are comfortable with and your production will increase. It sounds simple, but you would be surprised at how something like that can make a difference in your work life.

Plan something to look forward to

Everyone needs something to look forward to after a long day at work, this helps you stay positive at work, knowing something good is waiting for you. You could plan to go out to dinner, take a luxurious bath, go out on the town with friends, or simply drink a glass of wine and read a good book. You could also reward yourself with something big, like buying a new car or going on a vacation overseas. Whatever it is, use reminders of what you are doing to achieve this goal.

The daily grind of getting up each day and going to work can become a drag. Don't continue to let yourself be brought down. Use a few of these tips to help you stay motivated at work. You might want to give them all a try to see which work best for you.
