Motivation Tips

Motivation - Keep on Keeping On!
By:Shauna Arthurs

Do you ever have days where you feel like you are dragging yourself around, and you're not even sure why you're doing it all, and if you'll ever get where you want to go, and...complain complain...?

Well I recently had - unusually - one of those days, and I thought it would be helpful to write out my process as I shook myself out of it as well as being a demonstration of how to do so. So...without further delay here is what I did/said to myself:

1) I know better - According to the Law of Attraction, by my results I must be focusing on stuff I DON'T like or want...such as my boring and no-fun activities today; how I really don't feel like working out when I get home; I have a house to clean and don't feel like that either....ugh.

2) What DO I want? Hmmm...I want the rest of my day to be exciting, high-energy, fun and fulfilling. How to do that? Well for one, I will MAKE myself go work out because it will feel fantastic both during and afterwards, and I know it will bring me back in alignment with the energy and thought patterns I seek to maintain. I want to continue the consistency I have shown in my past and not break that...I would regret that more, and it would put me in a downward spiral...no WAY will I allow that!!

3) How can I get myself motivated?...well I've already done some of that...I can feel my eyelids lifting. Think I'll go have a coffee as well and maybe sign on to a forum about fitness for inspiration...do whatever it takes to get myself motivated again...maybe read a little on Daily Motivation also. Hey! I'll go have a big glass of water instead of the coffee - that will help me feel in line with my goals of health and fitness instead of just giving me a quick pick-me-up and then a sugar low.

4) I will take a few small steps today to clean and tidy what I need to: especially I will ask myself 'What can I do today that I will be glad I did tomorrow?' which reminds me how I do NOT want to wake up tomorrow regretting my laziness of today...I will also get up from my computer right now and go for a little refreshing walk to stretch and breathe.

5) I will go immediately upon my return to write in my Gratitude Journal on our forum, bringing my attention back where it belongs - to all the wonderful things in my life! Why not join me and begin your own list?

See? I feel better already, and I am anticipating the rest of the day to get better and better. Thank goodness - I HATE feeling crummy! My time is worth more than that."

All of this worked well for me that day, and such a process always does.
