Success - Self Sabotage and The Inner Critic
By:Nick Arrizza, M.D.

Are you one of those unfortunate individuals who not only engages self sabotaging behaviours but then finds a harsh inner critic beating up on you making you feel guilty, bad, inadequate, stupid, incompetent, incapable, depressed, unmotivated and like giving up on your success? Did you know that the inner critic is not only adding to your sabotaging habits but that it can also be permanently extracted from your subconscious mind and body leaving you feeling free and empowered?

Why does anyone have an "inner critic"? Well this construct is actually part of what you call your personality. In fact many consider it a "subpart" or "sub-personality". There are many sub-personalities that make up any given personality. Another example is the proverbial "inner child" albeit there are many sub categories of these based on their emotional characteristics and the events that generated them.

Sub-personalities are identified as such because they act up only in certain circumstances and have their own specific "personality" characteristics that differ on the whole from the much larger "persona" you know yourself as. These sub-personalities form around memories of events, usually negative ones that have a common emotional theme. For instance the inner critic often forms when there has been a history of some form of physical abuse.

The inner critic is an "internalized" form of abuser that gets carried forward into one's future even after the abuse has ended. Another way of saying this is that the abuse actually never ends!
The inner critic is actually not supposed to be inside of you at all. It is like a foreign intruder that takes every opportunity to undermine your self esteem, self worth, and self confidence and so on. What's more as it does so you feel bad, unworthy, undeserving of a fulfilling life and thus find yourself constantly sabotaging yourself.

The construct known as the inner critic and all sub-personalities for that matter are anchored within you by the negative memories and beliefs that you experienced earlier in life and that remain in your subconscious mind and body. All of these must be brought to consciousness and released in order for you to finally be free.

There is now a process, the name of which is shown in my bio below, which helps one rapidly, easily and permanently release negative memories that sustain negative sub-personalities.
