Motivation Tips
What is our thinking to each of us? Solomon said, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” Proverbs 23:7a. James Allen, in his book, As A Man Thinketh, states, “All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts.” Thinketh is the key word. Our thinking precedes our thoughts, and then our actions.
The thinking process yields our thoughts, and actions.
There are some who accept whatever they hear or read, without any thinking. Their thoughts and who they are become whatever others have imposed on them.
Others listen and read, and accept, only certain individuals. This is not all bad, yet the choice of who they listen to becomes critical. For they also become what others impose on them.
The last two groups have forsaken self-control, and too often integrated into their life thoughts and actions that are not in their best interest.
The thinker’s life is important to him, to what he is, and too all that he achieves. He accepts full responsibility for achievements and failures. He “thinks for self.”
When the thinking person experiences failure of a task he realizes that he has misunderstood certain information, or that the information was faulty. He reviews, adds more information, or seeks better information, and corrects so that the failure does not occur again. He learns from his own mistakes in thinking.
When a task succeeds he remembers it well and uses it in the future.
The thinking process is important.
Realizing that our own thinking is important causes the person to assess information, to validate it with available proofs from others that have achieved with it.
He takes information “under advisement.”
Once he has valid information, once its veracity is unquestioned, he then has information useful for his own thinking and use.
With facts and truths determined his thinking will yield reliable thoughts on which he can act.
And that is the thinking all need for a successful life in whatever endeavor.
