Motivation Tips
We all need motivation from time to time. It could be for work, family life, parenting, cleaning, health, exercise and nearly anything we have to do in our day-to-day lives. Sometimes we just need a little help with motivational tools and resources.
Motivation can mean the difference between accomplishing what you want to accomplish in your life or falling short of your would be achievements. No need to worry at all. Motivation is all around you.
Here are some places you can turn to for motivational help:
· Videos
· Audio Cassettes
· MP3 Files
· Books
· Workshops
· Events with Speakers
Utilize these motivational helpers above. Make sure your motivational toolbox contains things in it that will help with any part of your life: career, family, home, health, exercising, parenting, etc.
For more benefit, create a physical motivational toolbox. Use an old shoebox, a tackle box and an organizer. It doesn’t really matter what you choose to hold your most precious pieces of motivation, as long as it’s organized and handy for whenever you need a boost for whatever you need it for. Pack it full of motivational books, audio cassettes or CDs you can listen to anywhere, MP3 files if you have an MP3 player and more.
If you need motivation for your career or business, it is probably relatively simple to find a local workshop related to your career or business. You will find yourself surrounded by other people who are doing the same thing you do. Just be careful to stay away from negativity and negative people. They will only bring you down with them. Find positive people. They will help you stay positive. Look for an event that will have one or more expert speakers there to listen to. This is something so simple, yet so effective. Getting the motivation you need from a workshop can be very uplifting. If you can’t find a workshop in your area consider traveling to one. You can also take a workshop online!
Whatever your motivational needs are, there is one place that you will want to keep in your motivation toolbox: the Seven Rules of Motivation from http://www.motivation-tools.com/:
1. Set a major goal, but follow a path. The path has mini-goals that go in many directions. When you learn to succeed at mini-goals, you will be motivated to challenge grand goals.
2. Finish what you start. A half finished project is of no use to anyone. Quitting is a habit. Develop the habit of finishing self-motivated projects.
3. Socialize with others of similar interest. Mutual support is motivating. We will develop the attitudes of our five best friends. If they are losers, we will be a loser. If they are winners, we will be a winner. To be a cowboy we must associate with cowboys.
4. Learn how to learn. Dependency on others for knowledge supports the habit of procrastination. Man has the ability to learn without instructors. In fact, when we learn the art of self-education we will find, if not create, opportunity to find success beyond our wildest dreams.
5. Harmonize natural talent with interest that motivates. Natural talent creates motivation, motivation creates persistence and persistence gets the job done.
6. Increase knowledge of subjects that inspires. The more we know about a subject, the more we want to learn about it. A self-propelled upward spiral develops.
7. Take risks. Failure and bouncing back are elements of motivation. Failure is a learning tool. No one has ever succeeded at anything worthwhile without a string of failures.
