Short Sleeves Insights - Am I Having Fun Yet?
By:Hal Manogue

"Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind". Emerson said a lot in that short sentence. It seems I have overlooked the power I have within my reach. My thoughts create my experiences and also create what I want to look like. I can have fun all the time, if I believe I can. Fun means different things to me. Fun could be a vacation from my daily activities, perhaps a trip or just sitting with nature for a few hours. Exercise is fun, when I realize I like it. Understanding the benefits that exercise brings me, is fun.

It's not fun looking at myself with judgemental eyes and a helpless attitude. My mental mirror creates a distorted view, based on what others look like. Others can't change my opinion of my form, unless I change first. What do I want to look like? Skinny? Fat? Within the weight limits of some chart? Perhaps, I want to look like someone I'm not? Do I want to look like another me, that is longing for me to accept another reality? What I really want to look like is fun. I want to bring that emotional well being to my physical form. I want to treat myself to loving thoughts, accepting friends, and exciting events. I want to open myself to the wonders of physical life, and face each moment in truth. I want to see all the grandeur within me, so I can give and share it with all life. I want to treat myself with respect and understanding so my weight is no longer a sign of weakness. I want to feed my world with laughter and kindness, so I see myself in others. I want to fuel myself with pure energy from my source. Food for thought, will be the first food I choose. It is no longer a crutch or obsession, unless I want it to be. I create my physical form by my choice of fun or suffering. I want to look at myself as love, connected to love and I want to remember who I am. In spirit I have no weight. Consciousness is not dense, but fluid. Weightlessness is my original state of time. Fun is my original state of mind.
