The Theories Behind Human Motivation
By:Roger Gonzales

There are several theories to motivation that have helped lots of people to actually get themselves motivated and figure out what they need to do with their lives. One of the basic theories is called human motivation.

So what is Human Motivation?

Human motivation is the study of basic human nature and drive and how it pertains to human evolution. Human motivation is the setting aside of the animal instincts and focusing on the things that make humans uniquely human, and not animal this is what differentiates humans from animals. It is important to study human motivation because it explains the reasoning behind pursuit of happiness and idealistic human ideas. It involves the reasons behind life and the reasons that humans do what they do.

Freedom of choice is one of the things that make humans unlike any other in the animal kingdom. Only humans have the ability to make intellectual choices and use reasoning.

Human motivation is something that has been the focus of a lot of study. It is what makes humans able to reason. The reasoning skill behind human motivation is something that is involved only with humans and not with animals. This is what helps humans to talk about what is right and what is wrong, instincts non withstanding. This might mean that a human has the ability to decide what they should and should not do, even if their instincts tell them to do something. For instance, it is a human condition that says that stealing is wrong, and human motivation is the motivational factor that will convince a human that it is wrong to steal. On the other hand, animals have no sense of property, and if something is wanted by another animal, it will just take it, with no regard to right and wrong. The concept of human motivation is what sets humans apart from animals.

Using human motivation one can track the results of what a human being does and does not do during the course of their lifetime. There is a separation between instincts and survival processes of animals and the actual reasoning skills in animal processes, when working by the processes of human motivation.
