Learn These Self Improvement Tips and Stop Killing Your Dreams
By:Gregg Gillies

Self improvement is made up of many, many things. And getting a handle on them all can seem overwhelming to many people. That is why it's such a popular topic for books, audio programs, seminars and one on one coaching. While all these factors interconnect, if you asked me to boil success down into one skill, it would be this.

Take action.

That's it. Sure, there's a lot behind those two words, but that's what it boils down to. Successful people take action and unsuccessful people don't. They procrastinate instead. They put things off until tomorrow, but that tomorrow never comes.

If you want to improve at something, if you have goals you want to reach, dreams you want to achieve, then do something about it. Take action today.

It doesn't have to be something big. But it does have to be now. A whole lot of little steps eventually add up to something big. And by taking action now, even on something little, you begin to create the habit of taking action. And that is the key to your future success, no matter what your goal.

What can you do today? You could star with something as simple as defining your goals and putting them on paper. But they have to be real goals. What do I mean by that?

Forget goals like 'make more money' or 'lose weight.' Goals need to be measurable, specific, and urgent.

'Make more money' can become, 'get a $5,000 a year raise by December 21st of this year.'

'Lose weight' becomes 'lose 21 pounds of fat in 12 weeks.'

See the difference? That difference is powerful to your subconscious.

Once you do that, take action on one thing today that will move you closer to the goals you've set. And then tomorrow, take action on another little thing. After time, you'll be amazed at how easy it becomes to take action right away on things that move you toward your goals.

* Everything Starts With You

It's quite popular nowadays to blame everything on everyone and everything else in our lives. But it ultimately comes down to you. If you are procrastinating on taking action on achieving your goals, that is because you choose to do so. It's not the fault of your boss, job, finances, friends, or anything else.

* Be Honest

Once you realize that your choosing to procrastinate, you can take action on fixing that weakness. And you begin the fix by taking small steps each day.
