How To Stay Motivated - Continual Growth Through Goal Setting And Vision
By:Rex Causey

Mmmm...mmmm...good. I like Life--the cereal that is! The only downside is that if you are a slow eater the cereal becomes soggy and mushy. Hold on a minute. Can that be compared to actual life? Do I sense a bit a of wisdom coming on? A morsel of delicious and satisfying enlightenment? Indeed I do! Read on before it gets soggy...

When we plan out our lives we set goals, but often times we become comfortable, we simply stop dead in our tracks or all too easily slip into a state of self-contentment. This diversion or loss of focus--whether deliberate or gradually unintended--makes our lives soggy for the moment. We sit in this great big milk bowl and our lives go nowhere. I speak about this as an imperfect person who is constantly making the effort to avoid becoming soggy in my everyday life: Relationships, Career, Health, Education, Morals.

This "sogginess" is a devastating disease that creeps up on myself and everyone else at some point in life. Very sneaky-sneaky. We must train ourselves to be ever cognizant of the subtle culprit called complacency, which inhibits us from reaching our fullest potential. Success in Life takes discipline and requires astute guidance and wise counsel. In addition, a humble attitude and the willingness to learn from mistakes is key. We must come to the realization that failure is an event rather a lifestyle. Do not let that cereal get soggy! Set a goal, achieve that goal and continue setting new goals to challenge yourself. Eat your cereal one spoonful at a time. When you are done then have another bowl. Guard yourself and keep that sour milk out of your Life. In other words, watch out for those pessimistic people--cereal killers--who can not stand that your Life is crunchier than theirs and are jealous of the wonderfully delicious "Cinnamon Life" you worked so hard to obtain. Do what you must to make every bowl better than the last! When your box of Life is finally empty you want to make sure you have enjoyed every bit of it and made it as delectable and delightful as you possibly could!!!

This blog has made me hungry. Hope you found it inspiring and amusing. That next bowl of Life tomorrow excites me and I am ready to savor it. Let us make our tomorrows so great that our yesterdays are forgotten! I leave you with this quote, "Helen Keller was once asked if there was anything worse than losing one's sight. She responded, 'Yes, losing one's vision.'"
