The Pursuit Of Health, Wealth And Happiness - Part 1
By:Miller Rhodes

Determined to grasp the concepts presented in the film, I watched it at least twice a week. After about a month, I reached the point where I could say the lines in the movie right along with the folks presented in the movie. There is something magical about this film. During the period I was watching the movie repeatedly, I did notice that my life was moving in a positive direction. I want this article to be the first in a series where I will make myself the subject of an experiment in the power of action combined with positive thinking. I believe that you need both to be successful. Also, we must all develop patience. I set my goals in 30, 60, and 90 day cycles and I don't expect any significant results any sooner than every 90 days.

I developed hypertension about a year ago and am on medication for it. However, I am also 30 lbs. overweight and need to improve my level of fitness. My first goal is to exercise 6 days a week for at least 30 minutes and begin to lose weight. Like many Americans, I have a significant amount of consumer debt. It has gradually been coming down and I want that to continue. I pay a fixed amount on all my debts that brings them down at a steady pace. My second goal is to get out of debt. I believe that debt is one of the larger obstacles that stands in the way of financial independence. In combination with my debt reduction program, I save 15% of every check I get. You might not be able to do that, but that fine. Save $25.00, $50.00, or whatever you can do everytime you get paid. It is that small action that tells the Universe or the Almighty that you are moving in the direction of change.

When people lose large amounts of weight, become wealthy, or achieve some goal that appears lofty to us it all started with a small step in the direction they wanted to go in. It was nothing bigger than changing a few thing they do daily and being consistent. I am going to show you that this works. Do it with me if you want. Once a week, I will right an article reporting my results, frustrations, and course corrections. I'm just like you. I work as a programmer about 9 hours a day. I drive about 30 minutes to work 5 days a week. I haven't saved alot of money and I have alot more debt than I'd care to admit. However, I belive that 2008 will be a special year for me and it can be for you too. Together, we can achieve health, wealth, and happiness. I am going to track certain things on a daily basis. I'd recommend that you do it less frequently if you're easily discouraged. I will weight myself and take my blood pressure when I awake and before I go to bed. I will record these numbers everyday because I believe that positive change is going to occur. I am 6' 0 and weight 218 lbs. right now and my current blood pressure prior to taking my medication is 148 / 77. That's not real good. However, I think that I can get to a point where I get off medication and have normal blood pressure. In this whole process, you need an X factor, something that might help you reach your goal if you're handicapped in some way. You may be genetically predisposed to have high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, or whatever. If you're on a budget, get some cheap vitamins. I will be taking Himalayan Goji. My research indicates that this product has more potential benefit than others I've investigated. The recommended dose is 4 ounces a day. I'll stick to 2 since that's what I can afford.

Tomorrow is January 15th, 2008. That will be my official start date. The important thing is to START something. There is a synergy to doing things that will improve your health, grow your bank account, stimulate your mind, and improve you spiritually ( not religion ). I will try my best to eat about 4 times a day. I will exercise every morning for 30 minutes to an hour. I will move some money to my savings as the first action when I get paid even if it is just $20.00. Understand, that money is not to be touched. Pay your bills and do whatever you think is best with the rest of your money. This must be built on your situation and reality. However, you must stay in the framework I provide. I recently started an online business. I took the time and found a sponsor that had a system that I believe will work for anyone. The system is like everything else I'm doing. If I'm consistent, results will come over time. Also, the company I joined removes one of the larger obstacles in an MLM business by helping you find customers for their product. These become your customers. My income is zero. It was $100.00 to get started and I put $100.00 into set up costs. I have a budget of $200.00 bucks a month to use the system provided. Thanks for your time. I will write another article in a week with status and any adjustments I need to make.
