Motivation Tips
It’s true we think in pictures. Our minds create an image when we think about something specific. Try this... Think of a baby. Think of a bridge. Think of what you ate for lunch. What do you see?
Most likely, all of these “thoughts” came to you as “images”. You actually pictured a specific baby, a certain bridge and a nice healthy salad (or perhaps a tuna melt and some chips!). And, not only did you get a picture in your mind, you most likely also experienced other “sensory” emotions with it. You smelled the freshness of the baby, heard the crash of water against the bridge and tasted the delicious salad and chips!
Why do we think in pictures? First - because our minds are programmed this way. Our brain works with all of our senses, puts them together and creates a complete thought. It rounds out the sensory experience for us. We can actually “feel” these images in our bodies; they resonate in our being.
Often, they resonate so strongly and feel so real that we are compelled to take some sort of action. If the “picture” is positive, loving and empowering, we do what we can to keep it, enjoy it, and get more of it. If the “picture” is negative, ugly and draining, we do what we can to change the situation.
Taking this one step further...if our mind creates images, and the images direct our thoughts and actions – what would happen if we DECIDE to create specific, positive, beautiful, empowering images in our minds?
What if we could “picture” and create the relationships we desire? What if we could “picture” and create the job and salary we desire. What if we could “picture” and create perfect health, a beautiful home, and an effortless, ideal life for ourselves - in every area we desire.
Wouldn’t life be grand?
Well, I have some great news! Life IS Grand! You can DO all this. You can HAVE all this. You can literally have anything you want and desire and believe in. The very first step is to “picture” it. Get the image in your mind. Brand it there. Visualize it. Hold it above all else no matter what you currently have or in what situation you now find yourself.
In addition to keeping it in your mind, you can cut out pictures and put them up around the house where you will see them everyday – on the refrigerator, on the bathroom mirror, at the edge of your computer monitor. Look at them as often as you can, and FEEL them. Allow all of your senses to experience them.
Here’s what happens... This image will become your thoughts. Your thoughts will lead you to take action. Your actions will create your results. This means that you will have what you picture. This new, exciting vibrant image will become your reality! In fact, it will become your LIFE!
Hold an image in your mind’s eye, and you will surely live into it!
Now, that’s Powerful!
