Visit the French Quarter while in Louisiana. This area is the oldest in New Orleans, having been founded in 1718 by the French. Enjoy the street performers and bands that play for the enjoyment of the tourists. The Jazz Festival is held in the latter part of April and the beginning of May. The types of music you will hear include blues, gospel, pop and jazz.

Food is a part of this festival with many of the specialties they have been making and serving for years. Crawfish is, of course a part of the menu as are the muffulettas, gators and the po-boys.
