Reasons the 4th of July is Important to the United States
By:Kenny Leones

Independence Day is a holiday celebrated all over the United States every fourth day of July. It is also a popular summer event. Most celebrations for Independence Day happen in the parks or fields. It is a non-working holiday so most government offices are not open that day. The cities and towns in the United States celebrate it with carnivals, baseball games, parades and a display of fireworks.

1. One of the answers to the question, why do we celebrate the 4th of July is the fact that the people wanted to have a day to honor the heritage of the United States. It is the main event that remembers the history of the nation as well as the legacy of the American ancestors.

2. The second answer to the question, why do we celebrate the 4th of July is the fact that July is a good month to celebrate Independence Day outdoors. People love to have picnics during that day since it is a summer day. Most of the people decorate their homes with American flags as well as balloons. At night most people go outside to watch extravagant Independence Day fireworks in the parks.

3. The third answer to the question, why do we celebrate the 4th of July is because it is the day when the Declaration of Independence was officially accepted by the American government officials in 1776. They made this so they can break free from the governance of Great Britain. Thomas Jefferson was the one who wrote the document. All the members of the American congress back then signed it and sent it to all the states.

4. The fourth answer to the question, why do we celebrate the 4th of July was because the American ancestors who fought for America to gain independence from Great Britain wanted to teach the future citizens of the United States the ideals that Americans should always strive for. They wanted to have that special day when the people would renew their commitment for the values that America stands for like freedom and equality for everyone.

5. The fifth answer to the question, why do we celebrate the 4th of July was because it was the day John Adams described as the epoch of the United States' history. He said that it should be celebrated by the following generations as one of the best festivals for the birth of the American Independence.
