Everything You Wanted To Know About St Paul, Mn
By:Roberto Bell

The 2nd most populated area in Minnesota is its capital St. Paul (also spelled Saint Paul, when un-abbreviated). It is located on the north end of the Mississippi River. St. Paul is one of Minnesota's Twin Cities, the other of which is Minneapolis (the largest city in the state of MN). There are over 3 million people living in the combined area of Minneapolis-St. Paul. That makes this location one of the US's largest metropolitan areas.

The climate in St. Paul is categorized as a continental climate (as is true with many states in the upper Midwest of the USA). Generally speaking, the summer time in St. Paul ranges from warm and mild to humid and hot. The winters tend to be cold but not prone to snow as areas farther north. However, it does tend to be very cold in the winter due to a lack of major waterways to keep the air moderate.

St. Paul boasts a strong economy with many major corporations' home offices located there. Some examples of major companies represented by the area include, Securian Financial Group, Gander Mountain, Ecolab, Lawson Software, 3M Company, St. Jude Medical, Patterson Dental, Mendota Heights, Ford Motor Company, The Travelers Companies, and more. In mid 2008, there were reportedly nearly 1.6 Million jobs in St. Paul's private sector.

There are many other types of companies, institutions and events that are booming in the St. Paul area. This includes thriving sports teams and events (including 1,500 teams). There is a strong media system including almost 40 radio stations, several circular news print publications, and more. The city is also a center point for state and federal government buildings.
