Labor Day Is a Perfect Day to Drive in NYC
By:Erik Feder

Long Beach, New_York -- A lot of people think about driving to NYC when they have a day off - but it will be crowded and parking will be difficult, right?

Not necessarily. While it may be crowded, many people dont realize that major national holidays are fantastic days for parking in NYC - and Labor Day is one of them.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

On national holidays like Labor Day, you are allowed to park anywhere you want EXCEPT at streets where the signs say "No Parking Anytime", "No Standing Anytime" or "No Stopping Anytime". "Anytime" Is the key word here - anytime really does mean 24/7/365. However, if a sign says, "No Parking 8am-6pm (M-F)", you can park there legally for as long as you like on Labor Day because on national holidays, ALL PARKING RULES ARE SUSPENDED in NYC! So as long as there is no "Anytime" after the regulation, you are legal to park there all day - and you dont have to put money in the meter, either - thats also free on major national holidays.

So why not enjoy your day off and enjoy one of the easiest days of the year to park in NYC? While these rules also apply on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, bad weather and family gatherings make trips to Manhattan much less likely. Early September weather makes Labor Day truly a perfect day to drive and park your car in NYC.

Erik Feder is "The Parking Expert"; he has done extensive research on the Manhattan parking scene, including driving on every single street in Manhattan and writing down the parking regulations on each and every sign. He is available 24/7 for interview, commentary or quotation. Consider contacting Erik when you need information on anything relating to parking in the New York City area.
