Resume and Interview Tips

Release the Tension During the Job Interview by Asking Questions
By:Roger Clark

The commonly shared belief is that a job interview is only a one sided process, during which the interviewer asks questions to which interviewee has to answer. This is an old fashioned approach which may cause serious problems. In fact, most of the nowadays employers want to hear your questions and see what you are mostly preoccupied of. For this reason, you will have to include some good questions in your job interview. Not only will you be able to know more about the company where you may work, but you will also make a good impression on the interviewer and release the tension between the two of you.

When you are asked for an interview means that you have attracted the employers' attention and that you are one of those people suitable for the job. Yet, at the interview, you will have the even more difficult job to prove that you are the best. This feeling may overwhelm you and create a sort of tension between you and the one who is going to interview you. This may make you look a bit clumsy and affect the way in which you give answers to the questions you are being asked. To release the tension, you can use the opportunity you are given, of asking questions about things you may be interested in.

Usually, most interviewees preserve their questions for the last part of the job interview. This is because the beginning and the closing parts are probably the most important periods of the interview. The beginning will make determine the employer's first impression, while the ending part will confirm or infirm the first impression. Another reason for which job applicants prefer to ask questions at the end of the job interview is because they have already displayed all their skills and qualifications and think that at the end they should also look interested in the way things are going in the company.

Yet, there are people who also ask questions during the interview. Choosing to do this will help you formulate your objectives in the appropriate manner, taking into consideration the company's plan of development. Also, interviewees are strongly encouraged to ask for clarifications when they do not understand the meaning of a sentence. This will help them give appropriate answers. Also, the employer may interpret this as being a proof that the person will work perfectly in a team and will not be afraid to ask for help whenever he is in difficulty.

Questions are very good ways of finding more about the company you may work and to show your employer that you are interested in the company's welfare. Also, it may also be interpreted as a sign of the fact that you are always ready to learn new things and adapt your objectives on your way. No matter if you choose to keep the questions for the end of the job interview or let them out during the interview, make sure that you do ask good questions, which will impress the interviewer.
