How To Not Forget the Essentials Of The Second Interview
By:Suzette Dean

One would consider his or herself lucky if called for a second interview. Often times, only one or two out of ten applicants would be called for the second interview. Most applicants were already screened during the first interview so that means that if you were able to proceed to the second interview, you have the qualities that the company is looking for but you are not the only one. More or less, other applicants that you will be seeing on the second interview are also being considered for the same position.

With this knowledge, you must show the employer that you have an edge over the other applicants during the second interview. You must convince them that you are the right person for the job. So how would you do it? You need to know yourself better. Skills wise, you need to determine what your skills are, how good you are with that skill and how experienced you are with that skill. Experience wise, you need to assess how difficult or how easy your experiences were, how well you handled such experiences and how far you went to improve what you have already done.

Also, more research about the company would be helpful. What their services are, their vision, their mission and their products if they have any. Knowing all these will help you incorporate your skills and experiences with their needs. You will also need to know more about the job that you are aiming for. In this way you can convince the employer during the second interview that you are the right person for the job and the company. This will be your advantage over the other applicants that were not prepared with this kind of strategy.

Another thing that you should remember during the second interview is to establish your values. Most companies nowadays are also looking at the values of their employees. This is important in maintaining a good relationship among the employees of the company. Some employers would even go to the extent of setting up certain situations that may determine your values, without you knowing of course.

The second interview is your make it or break it interview. It may be your luckiest day or just another unsuccessful interview. So in order to achieve a successful second interview you must be prepared in every aspect. Nonetheless remember to just be yourself during the second interview.
