Customer Service Cover Letter Sample - An Example For You
By:Gage Benjamin

The customer service cover letter sample presented in this article may be used as a reference example. This example is short and simple. It conveys your interest in the job opening and mentions your qualifications.

Customer Service Cover Letter Sample

Dear Mr. Doe

I realize you are very busy so I promise to keep this short.

I saw a job opening in the local newspaper stating you are looking for a customer service representative. I have four years of experience at the customer help desk for Widget Company. I am most interested to discuss how my skills can be used provide exceptional service to your customers.

My commitment to providing top quality customer service resulted in many of Widget Company's current customers specifically asking for me by name when calling in for help.

I have included my resume with this letter. The resume provides the details of my qualifications including my work experience, skills, and training. I look forward to sharing more of my qualifications with you in person. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Regards,

Your Name

Now, that was pretty easy, wasn't it? As you can see, your cover letter does not need to be long. It simply needs to include two critical pieces: (1) ask for the invitation to speak with the hiring manager in person and (2) mention your qualifications. The good way to present your qualifications is by focusing on one key accomplishment. For example, in the case above, you have the let the employer know that customers at your current / previous company specifically ask for you by name. Do you think that would make an impression on this employer?
