A number of individuals have actually committed the mistake of thinking that all CVs are the same. It is because don't know but there are many types. Reading about each one will help you understand why it is used and what it is for.

Regardless of what your school teaches you, there are two kinds of resumes. The first is the chronological kind. This will give the employer a detailed overview of your experiences in the past. It will give employers an idea of what jobs you have had in the past, as well as the tasks and responsibilities you have received. Aside from this, it will give them an idea of what you can accomplish if they choose to hire you.

The other type is the functional type which is often used by newly graduated students, as well as interns and so on. Aside from newbie professionals, those who are advised to use these are those who will be undergoing a career shift.

Of course, it doesn't mean that if you choose one, you have to stick to it. There are actually people who combine these two types of CVs. There are many ways to write your resume and knowing these two kinds can be your basis.
