Job Interview Preparation
By:Raymond James

Are you going for job interview and don't know how to prepare? Well, here are some points to consider when the job interview is about to happen. Presenting yourself at an interview is not a simple task. Remember that an interview is not just an opportunity for a general conversation, but is a test to assess you. Going for an interview without any preparation will land you in trouble and you will find it difficult to recover your reputation. You must be sure to make proper preparations for the interview.

Before the job interview, collect all the data available about the employing company. Visit web sites and seek any relevant information about the company. Note down the standard type of questions you will be asked by the interviewer and prepare well-crafted answers based on the facts and your qualifications. The outcome of the interview is dependent upon how you answer the questions and how well you justify yourself.

Always be ready to state why you are applying for this job and why you wish to have this job in this particular organization. The next group of questions will usually be concerned with your weaknesses and strengths, your best achievements, what you really wish to accomplish as a career, what you have learned from the experiences you have already had and many such general questions. Your replies to these types of questions should be enlightening and you must substantiate your points in details. Give some examples by which you can best justify your answers. Have a detailed study on hand of examples you are going to elucidate.

Obtain a copy of the handbook of the company's terms and conditions. Analyze it properly to save you some time at the interview. Collect the hard evidence for what you have accomplished to date which will put you ahead of others who are competing with you. Make sure you resume or CV is current and keep it very neat and relevant. Carry your latest updated resume with you even if you have already given a copy to the interviewer. Always carry more than one copy with you.

Revise and remember the relevant issues of the company. Prepare some questions you may wish to ask about the company responsibilities and associated topics. Research the company's trade policies. You can ask for answers to any doubts you may have in your mind.

Regularly review your aim, short-term goals and long term goals. Speak honestly and clearly. Be enthusiastic and build the rapport with the interviewer. Provide the interviewer with substantive evidence as to how you can achieve the company's goals with your talents. Make sure that you have at least two or three excellent references that have the ability to place you one step ahead of the other candidates. Always have a positive attitude, be keen and focused. Think of various strategies to deal positively with the flaws you have. It may be advisable to sit for some personality tests. These indicate your merits and weak points, enabling you to act positively from the results.

The last important point is to always dress appropriately. Wear a good combination of formal attire and dress smartly. Be confident in yourself and look smart.
