How to Type a Resume? What to Write and Not to Write
By:Trevor Johnson

When you are desperate for a job, do not allow your resume to let you down. Your resume is the first thing that prospective employers get to see and they can make the last impressions too. So how to type a resume is a very good question.

A resume can make or break your career. Many people have found great opportunities with a detailed and great looking resume. You should not for one second, think that anything you write is fine. You must think before you put anything on your resume, be it your qualifications or your skills.

Always remember to change your resume according to the position you are applying. Either you may have to delete unnecessary training, old work experience and skills. Try to stress on what the job description says and highlight them in your resume.

Remember to put all the essential details such as - your email address, contact number, address, recent work experience, relevant certificate, education and skills that match the job position. If your bio data has too many unnecessary or irrelevant points, the employer may not show interest. So be precise and to the point.

Always start with your most recent job or education qualification and go backwards. Nobody has the time to read pages and pages of your years of experience. So make it into two or a maximum of three pages. You can always attach another statement showing complete work history or just elaborate when you get an interview call.

The layout and look of the resume should be professional without any graphics. You must check the complete resume for grammar and spellings before you submit. A resume is basically 'You' in a glance, so you must avoid writing paragraphs or big sentences. Instead use bullet points and numbering. This in short is how to type a resume which will get you the interview.
