Silverboy, As you stated Wancheng International does have a bad reputation. I have been here for 3 years (I came to Hengyang because it was the closest city to my fiancee's hometown) and knew of their reputation by the same means as anyone else, a quick look on the net. The Wancheng office that is mentioned is the one in Chongqing. I will not say that the Henyang office wasn't affiliated with them at that time but today we are affiliated with no one. The Chongqing office is no longer operational.
You mention that they tried to recruit you in 2007. Those people have been let go. The staff is new. I moved in to my present position in 2008.
Since my arrival I have been attempting to turn their reputation around. I am now in a position to do so at a much faster rate. I have redone the contracts, pay more per class, added a yearly bonus, travel pay, and increased the airfare. In addition I have obtained a much higher standard of housing for teachers. Rome wasn't built in a day, I will moving forward with my efforts to turn the image of Wancheng around.
We are a training school for children aged 5-12. Foreigner teachers only give the children tests twice a semester. The teaching is done by Chinese teachers who hold degrees with an English major. The foreigner teacher only gives tests so we can evaluate the Chinese teachers progress and teaching performance.
We place foreign teachers in some of the better schools in Hengyang. As I stated in my first posting a teacher is not required to work more hrs. than the contract states.
