A verbal promise is legally binding. E.g. breach of promise.
Please elucidate when a verbal promise is legal in contrast to when it isn't.I'm not a lawyer,so I wouldn't know the difference between the two situations. But you obviously know as you've brought this matter up.
By the way,if Chinese employers breach written contracts willy-nilly without compunction, why should we expect them to keep verbal promises that are as legally binding as their contracts?
Of course, verbal promises, just like contracts, should be made in both Chinese and in English, the two versions to be equivalent in meaning.
Or maybe Esperanto can be used as a shortcut.....lol!Or better still, how about crocodilish?Turnoi,it's easy to learn, right?
