When you have the time, Silverboy, please add to our awareness of the "crappy English teaching history in China." Was there ever a time it wasn't "crappy?" If so, when did it actually start becoming "crappy?" Is it "crappy" everywhere in China and in every sector?" Does that include "crappy" English teachers, Chinese and foreign, or are you only referring to certain segments? Can you advise us how to make our classes not so "crappy?" What advice would you give to administrators of top tier colleges such as Xinhua in terms of how to improve their foreign language departments? What are you, personally, doing to improve English language training in China other than trying to close down all training centers in China, which you have labeled as superfluous? Are you a trained language teacher? If so, what techniques, methodologies and approaches do you find work best for you and your students? Do you find any significant differences in teaching ESL at home and EFL in China? Do you attend seminars and workshops with the hope that you could improve your teaching? How much research have you done in the field of second language acquisition?
