Hey,

My wife and I were recruited by this school and taken in by all their false promises and lies. We spent a couple of thousand pounds getting out to China and more while in China. The school promised us 2 weeks of teacher training prior to taking any classes, the day after we stepped off the plane they had us taking classes - despite the fact that we told them we had not taught before. We got the impression we were the western puppets there to make the school look good to potential customers, "oh look at us we have native English speakers at our school, send your child here". We were told the apartment we would be staying in was a short walk from the school - in fact it was several bus stops away from the branch we would be spending most of our time in, they never told us that we would have to work a probationary period for which they would not pay us (after I had an argument with them they did pay us for this period). However if you dare to raise any issues with them you will find that their attitude to you totally changes, you will find that you get treated like dirt and they then start to say ok well maybe your not for us, and of course having spent all the money yourself to get out there you get irritated by this and try to explain to them that if the issues are addressed then you will be happy to work there as you did not spend all the time and money you spent to get out there for nothing, to be told after a month that as you are not willing to endure the awful working conditions and accept that you have been told fairy tales about: the apartment, the job, the salary, the staff, getting a working visa, basically everything that they no longer want you to work there.

After a month my wife and I left without telling them as they were treating us horrendously, there was supposed to be other foreign teachers there but we only saw one, the guy Julian Day that told us all the lies to get us out there - and then of course when we got there he just denied all knowledge of telling us anything about the post, the apartment, the salary etc - yet it was only he that we had any dealings or knowledge of prior to getting out there.

I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN TEACHING ENGLISH IN CHINA TO AVOID THE CC ENGLISH SCHOOL IN GUIYANG CHINA, LIKE THE PLAGUE. YOU WILL ONLY END UP BEING RIPPED OFF AND TREATED LIKE DIRT, NO ONE WILL SUPPORT YOU IN THE SCHOOL AND NO ONE WILL HELP YOU. YOU WILL FIND THAT IF YOU RAISE ANY ISSUES THEY WILL JUST EITHER THREATEN TO GET RID OF YOU OR GET RID OF YOU, YOU WILL FIND THAT YOU HAVE BEEN LIED TO, THATS IF THEY DON'T JUST TURN YOU AWAY WHEN YOU GET THERE. YOU WILL FIND THAT CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS HAVE VERY QUESTIONABLE MORALS AND THAT YOU END UP SPENDING MORE OF YOUR OWN MONEY THAN YOU EVER EXPECTED TO, THEY ARE RIP OFF MERCHANTS.
