In response to Re: hampson english guangzhou (Pete)

all the while begging me to do more demos to get her unqualified teachers more students.

That rings a bell although god only knows why introducing one teacher helps gain the business for another but they seem to think it does. One of the big issues, and I am sure it is the same at all training centres, is the fact that as soon as a potential client walks in it is like one of those cartoons where the dollar signs appear in their eyes. KERCHING!!!!!!

They will desperately do whatever they think they need to in order to get said client to part with their money only looking at the short term not the long. Most of the qualified teacher who do or have worked in this organisation have varying skills from being great at teaching young kids to teaching something more specific like SAT's or TOFEL etc.

Do Hampson pay any attention to the individual skills of any one teacher when choosing who to introduce to a client....... The answer would have to be a big NO! They simply look at who happens to be available at the time and they rarely bother to think about checking that teachers schedule to see if they even have the time to take on a new student first.

Lets look at this scenario for a second. Someone walks into a store to buy a new TV. The assistant comes over and helps them. The customer explains what they are looking for and the assistant goes on to demonstrate and talk about a TV they have which does everything the customer wants spending about 30 minutes doing so. The customer is very happy. "Great" they say "Ok I'll buy it". Suddenly the assistant says "Oh I'm sorry!! I can't 'sell' this TV to you". So the question in the customers mind simply has to be well what the @@@@ did you waste half and hour of my day demonstrating the damn thing to me for then and promptly walks out!!

That is what I used to see happening in Hampson schools. No real thought put into anything at all. They would have a client sat there for hours talking to teachers and the teachers were either unsuitable for that client and/or too busy to teach the student anyway. There were a few times I saw very angry clients having a big argument then leaving and my Chinese is good enough to follow the conversation to understand that they were angry because after choosing a teacher they introduced they were then told they could not have them. Lack of professionalism plain and simple and it is these kinds of things that will help to bring such a schools downfall.
