SCHOOLS AND RECRUITERS REVIEWS

Dear Kyle,
International Teaching Advantage accepts no money from schools in China. We are not a recruiting agency. Recruiters in China accept money from schools. This means that they protect the best interests of the schools in China and not the foreign teacher. The recruiters in China negotiate contracts for the school and not the prospective employee. Many times the recruiter is even taking money off the top of the salary the whole ten months the teacher is in China. Also, most quality schools feel they do not need to pay a recruiter money for a foreign teacher. Since International Teaching Advantage does not charge schools in China money for our services we can work with a wider range of excellent schools. Recruiters can't do this because they can only work with schools that pay them.

There is a lot more to teaching in China than just setting up a position and a contract. Many people have questions that need straight forward and honest answers. International Teaching Advantage provides their clients with never ending support and aims to make the transition from the United States to China as smooth as possible. If you work with recruiters it can be difficult to communicate with them and very difficult to get truthful information. This causes a prospective teacher a great deal of stress and mistrust. You yourself said that you do not trust recruiters. I agree! It is because they are usually dishonest. I have seen the contracts that most of these agencies arrange and they are all wrong. The working hours are always too many, the pay is under average, and the school only offers shared housing. I know not everyone can not afford our fee but it is sad to know that agencies are sending people to these types of positions.

Kyle, I am sure that you can find a position on your own. You seem to know what you are doing. Nevertheless, we have worked many years to create a great service and every year we have satisfied clients. We even can get retired people positions. That can be extremely difficult.

Here is a letter that was written to us recently:

Hey, it is Ryan O'Connor. You helped land me a job here in China.
How are you doing? I am sorry I have not been in touch. I wanted to tell you how much I am loving my life out here. Thank you for everything. I plan on staying out here for awhile. I love Shanghai, I love the country, and most importantly, I love my job. I really hope I am invited back next year to teach. If not, I hope I can find something else in Shanghai.

Well, I hope you are doing well. If you get a chance, write back.

Take care,

Ryan

Lastly, our new clients can speak with our previous clients or with teachers that are actually teaching at the school that they are going to. We look forward to our continued efforts to help foreign teachers off to a great start in China!
