How bad is that? How often does that happen in the West? You have a bitter argument with a work colleague(a head of department to boot) Not only did that colleague see the error of his ways, but profoundly apologised to you afterwards-in ink! in ink! This just goes to show how fair-minded, unselfish and outward-looking Chinese teachers can be. This may be one of the reasons why Chinese teachers are able to produce students in every class who can hold some sort of conversation in a foreign language. That certainly would not be true in the UK, now would it? We can learn a lot in the West from Chinese English Teachers. Maybe the UK should be sending teachers to China on courses. To be instructed by Chinese English teachers. Their methods actually produce speaking students-how shoddy is that?
