Shandong may have a lot of places that offer ESL teaching positions, but very often they have problems finding foreign teachers. The reasons are manifold:
1. Low salary,
2. places that are in the middle of nowhere (except for Jinan and Qingdao perhaps),
3. sub-standard accommodation (according to SAFEA rules),
4. schools with inflexible management that does not care at all about the concerns and needs of foreign teachers they have hired.
I had been there this year and dealt with a couple of different schools and people, and that is why I would not really recommend to look for jobs in that part of China.

I see your reasoning; however, this REDHEAD person says he arrived as a newbie in China and seems to have been let down. Any job might be better than none to recuperate expenditure, I was thinking. Might be better than returning home directly, tail between legs, to find something, anything. He seems to have 2 plus weeks left to find something as he has paid for his hotel 3 weeks in advance-or so he/she says.
