SCHOOLS AND RECRUITERS REVIEWS

It could even be argued that in theory, all training centres have the potential to be good schools. However, this will probably never happen, they will never achieve their true potential because although some of the better training centres might even hire a decent Director of studies (a very rare thing, they prefer easy to control puppets), teaching staff and purchase decent materials, educational needs will always be cast to one side to satisfy the needs of some bean counting idiot in the sales office that doesn't have a clue about education.

In my opinion, it tends to get worse than that because the people running the business side of things don't tend to be that great at that, either. Scamming a customer, failing to deliver upon a great promise in the quest for short term profit seems to be a common thing in several Chinese businesses, one could point to certain Chinese cultural values, but I would keep it very simple and state that many younger employees in private companies throughout China often prefer to keep jumping from job to job, although those in state owned enterprises usually don't because they enjoy the benefits and stability that those jobs offer. People that work in training centres often do so because they couldn't obtain a more prestigious job elsewhere, so don't expect a real commitment to education from them!

The sad thing is that many Chinese employees and managers alike, fail to understand the importance of long-term customer satisfaction and relationships. There are arguably far more pissed off training centre customers out there than pissed off foreign teachers. There's talk of the government gradually making things more difficult for those in the private sector, some would say good riddance...
