Turnoi, tt can be the case - I heard the sad story from a westerner who had frequented night clubs at weekends, and someitimes not returning to her flat the next morning, getting called a 'dirty stopout', and having her acommodation changed for the worse.

It's not a good idea to club in China as a foreign teacher. You'll be looked down upon! I think night clubs and KTV's are boring places to hang out, and should be avoided by teachers. Besides, there's always the risk of a violent incident at those drinking places, even involving another foreigner. Drink affects some people very badly, causing them to want to fight!

Right on, Brett mate. I'm not saying that the other poster arrived at Ocean reeking of beer but if he did he has his answer. You are right though, some blokes can drink vast quantities and still act civilised, whereas others with innately bad personalities do get verbally aggressive and the Chinese bosses wouldn't like that one bit. The KTV and the Western bar types spring to mind. Whinging poms also spring to mind. Never start a job by whinging; that's the way to rub the Chinese up the wrong way. We should all remember we are guests in their country.
