Getting sensible mate. I was saying to Silverboy that in my four years in China I have learned that many Chinese use 'professor' in the same was as the French for ordinary teachers (even non qualified ones) So for example; and I don't know the age of your students; they can say mate(in English) "Turnoi est professeur des ecole." I think that this misusing of professor is getting blown out of all proportion.
