If you are currently in your home country, don't buy a flight ticket and don't prepare for travel unless you have got all the necessary documentation from them. This includes:

1. documents you need to apply for a Z visa (that is the only visa allowing you to work in China, if they tell you to apply for any other visa, it is illegal, they are most likely even not authorised to hire foreigners)
2. a contract or at least a written statement of your working and salary details,
3. phone number/emails of other foreign teachers working there to find out how they feel about the school or "school",
4. pics of the free the apartment they are supposed to provide/supply.

Don't trust any school/employer that tells you otherwise and contrary to that what I have listed here; there are far too many crooks out there targeting unsuspecting foreign newbies who had to learn the hard way. Their life was made miserable by those "employing" them and in the end they have regretted coming a long way for nothing.

Exercise extreme caution with any employer in China, they are nice and promise you the world to get you in the door and deliver nothing after you have come.

The ESL industry in China in general is a big shithole, so be extremely careful!
