No idea how you could arrived at the conclusion that John is a "Christian". He has stated repeatedly that he is not a believer.

And your remarks about the Eucharist or what more protestant-minded people would call the Lord's supper are a bit out of place here. Even within Christianity, there are differing theological opinions regarding this point.

To say that "they eat what they consider to be his flesh and drink his blood" is the same what non-Christian Roman authors attacking the Christian faith have said and for which in turn the first theological treatises were written in return by the early Church Fathers in response to this "accusation". Like you, they have made the same mistake to consider this motif outside its proper historical and cultural settings of ancient Oriental traditions by which ancient Jewish cult and its practices of the different religious groups in ancient Judaism were formed and influenced.

That said, it's not my role to defend any Christian traditions on here, so don't expect me to write anything in favour or in rejection to this. Instead, please take it easy and consider having a nice dog meat meal with the dog barking in your belly after eating it......LOL

Maybe John comes from a Christian stable. Maybe he doesn't care what he says he is. Maybe he is just playing a role. Do you think that could be true?

I don't remember Jesus saying 'interpret the truth anyway you please, according to cultural differences' As Christians we could really have the bun and the butter if that were true. "I ask your honour to be lenient because copulating with your neighbour's wife before dumping her body in the Briny, is culturally acceptable among Christians in Bogga Bogga Land."

As for defending Christianity. Well, if you are a Christian, you have no choice in the matter YOU HAVE TO. Unless the Biblical instructions can be swept aside with those cherries not so appealing.
