I don't see why this is important for any teacher. It boils down to the contract and what you sign. Instead of using a forum thread like this as a litmus test to accept or reject an offer, potential teachers need to contact native English speakers from England, America, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to find out what exactly the city is like as well as the working conditions.

I am getting the impression that there are some greedy foreign teachers out there trying to make a bad name for a rural school. I would like to see concrete evidence for any gripes or grudges. Enough of this money talk, did you like your apartment? Did you like your students? If you worked more than 6 months, then why are you complaining now?

Yes, the challenge is on, give us the details (not email, put up a site and show us, scans, everything) or please move on to your next "adventure".
