Bloody pointless for us to teach grammar when the chinese teachers can probably teach it better than us anyway...

1) No, they can't. Not better than a qualified teacher anyway. They could teach it better than you could, but being fair, so could my dog.

2) Remind me again who teaches the Chinese teachers the grammar so they can teach it to students? Again, you've conveniently not addressed my response to this from your last post... I'd wager because you lack the ability to actually address the rebuttal. But again, I'm not surprised!

I'd rather just do 16 classes of conversational english a week and enjoy my free time with minimal lesson planning.

Because you're lazy, you don't really care about teaching and because you're not a real teacher. You're a native speaker who wants to coast by in China, drinking and hitting on women/girls and you need a visa to do so. You and others of your ilk are why ESL teaching in China is in such a state; Lazy, under-qualified westerners who make a mockery of real teaching. I'm really not sure how Turnoi supports you, when what you have said here is everything he claims to hate about ESL teaching in China. And for all his misguided blustering, I don't doubt for a second a part of him cares about education.

ESL in China is not a career

Agreed, mainly because of bad schools hiring bad teachers like you that give the rest of us a bad name. To me, you are nothing but a tourist looking for an extended holiday and using 'teaching' as a means to generate income to fund your travels. I don't know how you have the audacity to call yourself a teacher. But while schools continue to hire charlatans like yourself, real teachers like me will be put off of working alongside you. Hence the reason I returned to Europe.
