I would like to further comment on this.

I knew a couple, the husband older, British, let's call him Peter, his wife ten years younger let's call her Sarah. Peter decides that his small business is not going so well and that he needs to do something more to better his finances and support the demands of his young wife and ever encroaching family (yes, in China/HK/Taiwan, you marry the lady you marry her family), so he needs to do something to be the provider in his wifes eyes and so on. They decide to open a training centre, but he has no degree nor any teaching qualifications at all, just some experience in electronics/IT/small business, and she in well, to be frank, absolutely nothing, although perhaps sales, her english is relatively ok though. They open up a small kindergarten which soon booms....but the parent's don't know that the teacher (peter) is qualified in anything at all....yet they still do well.

Now, my question for beth is this, and no bonus round, is this a real school, as good as a public school, and is peter without any degree, let alone an english degree, and also no TEFL qualified to teach kids English as a second language.....and you criticize me.

I ONLY taught at public gigs, and I will side with turnoi to discuss and expose the private training centres in China for exactly what they are, useless, and run by former salesgirls, fat businessmen from the west, and fruit market traders in China who know plenty about apples and oranges but not Education.

But good for the chinese for insisting on degreed teachers. Then these businessmen and bouncers of nightclubs and pizza sellers and so on will get kicked out!!! GOOOOD!!!!
