In response to Re Happy Town English, Haikou (Sludge)

I'd rather spend 400 RMB on quality food or drink to be honest.

Now the educated middle classes are increasingly getting into their decent craft beer/real ale these days and they are creating loads of top notch places, spending a few hundred on a load of Belgian/German/etc beers is becoming quite a common occurrence, lol. There's not only guys importing beer, some local guys are starting to make their own with varying levels of success.

Also, the cocktail bar scene in China is really coming into its own too. These little things help me feel that little bit more positive about living in China, there's some mixologist guys out there who are hungry to succeed and are really passionate about what they do, you only need to chat with them to find that their English might be shit, but that doesn't stop them from being so eager to learn about their craft. These guys are no longer seeking to simply replicate foreign bars, but be better than them.

Nights out at such places are worth every penny though. You tend to get not much of hangover at all, despite possibly consuming far more units of alcohol than you would have at your local barbecue spot. You also get a better quality of conversation as you'll probably end up chatting to a doctor or a lawyer rather than some guy that obtained money in a shady way, or yet another foreign English deecher.

But the services of hookers are at least a far more economical purchase, than buying fake booze in a tuhao club trying to impress tarts that probably actually work for the said nightclub. But don't tell the newbies that, let them find out that shit for themselves, lol. Unfortunately, for those that don't care about the shitty fake alcohol and synthetic drugs they are putting into their bodies, that probably means physical damage; but they're all supposed to be grown ups as far as I am concerned.
