Please disregard my post. "What am I doing".
Uh, OK, Jessie...I'll admit it.
I have no idea whatsoever what the hell you're talking about now...
Why turning the other cheek
Are you a conscript? Get the hell out of there.
Great post motivation. Hopefully they will do it when they get OLDER.
Yeah, actually, I will, when I see the opportunity. I've considered trying to work in some volunteer time as an advocate, teacher, whatever for immigrants...if and when I ever go back.
A major difference will be that in our home countries, the law will be on our side once such behavior is exposed. In China, we can't really say that. Here, the heat will all too often come down on US when there's a problem.
In our countries those who abuse immigrants, when caught, will be considered criminals and face punishment. In China, they'll be considered clever for making extra profit from those awful ocean devils, and face banqueting.
Sure, we have exploitation of foreigners in our countries, too. But it can't really be compared, IMHO, to what happens in China and the rest of East Asia. Ours, at least, is no longer institutionalized into our society nearly as much.
And our transgressions don't really justify those done here, do they?
I just don't buy the argument that says "Some people do bad stuff in our countries, so we have to just accept and tolerate it when they do it here."
Why? Yes, I know corruption is part of human nature. Yes, I know that sometimes we have to just roll with the flow to make things happen in China. But it doesn't mean we have to like it or submit to it quietly. Does it?
Thank you!
Hopefully when you go back home, you'll do the same and try to stop anyone abusing foreigners, minorities and your own ppl.
