Re: World International English School Suzhou

Warning! Avoid this training center at all cost. This is without a doubt the worst training center in China. The only objective of this center is to get money period. You are only there as window dressing so they can charge an extortionate amount of money. This center is run by little girls that despise foreigners. The management constantly lies to foreign teachers and customers. It is impossible to differentiate the truth from the lies. The managament continually blame the foreign teachers their incompetence. Many teachers leave before the end of their contracts as the longer you stay the worse it gets. One teacher was fired because he had a debate about the disputed Islands. One teacher was deducted classes and pay because the management said he was not a good teacher and needed some training.Six months passed and he still didn't receive any training. They promise to pay for your visa. They don't. They promise you a bonus if you help sign a new customer. No foreign teacher has ever received it.Each month you always have to check your salary. In less than one month two Chinese supervisors two Chinese tutors and the head foreign teacher quit. This training center is constantly looking for foreign teachers and use agents to help them find teachers but are affraid to reveal the name of there company. There are many websites you can review to see what others have experenced at this training center. This training center will promise you the World but deliver nothing

Re: World International English School

What city is the World school in?
I know some schools with this name that are OK, although the work is pretty hard.
Others...don't know anything about them.

In general, the advice to avoid the chain/franchise schools is quite good...with EF overall near the bottom of the barrel.
A lot of these chains claim American or European or Canadian or Australian or other "trustworthy" ownership. In reality the foreigners are generally just franchisors, who have little knowledge or authority regarding the individual franchise schools. When push comes to shove, any foreign teacher who relies on the foreign franchisor for protection or assistance, will be in for a very rude awakening.

Keep Your Passport

Don't send your original passport to noone - send instead a notarized copy.

World International English School

I've just started my search for a job in China (perferrably in Yiwu) and I'm overwhelmed by all of the warnings. I receive notification from the World International English School. It sounds like a good fit for me, but first I feel that it would be wise to ask for those of experience their comments about the school. Also, when a school asks for your passport and documents...is there a way around giving out that information before you're offered the job and have signed a contract?

Thanks in advance for your help!
