Like I said, from the hours quoted and everything else stated, BSK doesn't sound all that great. If you like the long hours and low pay, that's great, however, you'd be in the minority.

Yes Silverboy, I have had many of the same thoughts yuo have. When I first came here it was in response to the lies and deceit of Miss Liu, the infamous Miss Liu. What a horrid witch she is. Shacks me up in a crap apartment with no hot water for a week, before telling me I need to give a demo. My TA never showed up to help me prepare, and so I got there without any real understanding of what I was supposed to do. What age level would this demo be for? I have never taught in China before, what does this harpy expect? Needless to say it did not go well, not just because I was alienated and had no assistance from my Chinese counter parts. We all know who Miss Liu is and what she does.

I think the rush with schools is they want to see if you are bankable right away, so as not to waste money giving you a place to stay if your not. Why give you some time to settle in when we can throw you into the fire and see if you dance well on those hot coals. A stupid way of doing business. Fortunately the next place I went gave me materials and a TA who actually had some competence, so everything went well and I gave a great lesson.

Personally I hate the whole demo BS, you either have hired me or you have not. I did not come 10,000 miles to try out for a job.
