Re: Jilin Province Tianshuo Education Exchanges Service Co., LTD, Changchun City, Jilin Province, Ch

Please, avoid this company!!! Never, I repeat for blind and deaf ones, never try to cooperate with them, whatever they will promise you because they do not fulfil promises, they'll take your passports (just to be sure you won't leave easily, will be explained as for administrative purposes), they'll do anything to squeeze you and will always hesitate to pay (if ever). I had the sad experience 5 years ago (during SARS) and you cannot imagine how stressed we were together with my friends who also decided to work for them when they treated us as rather slaves than partners. Do not contact them, deny their offers, never sign any contract with them otherwise prepare for the worst. In fact I will never forget that experience. Initially I wanted to learn Chinese meanwhile teaching English in China but I never had a chance to concentrate on learning myself.

In my country (Czech Republic) we have one that time Communist proverb. "Don't think! If you think, don't speak! If you speak, don't write! If you write, don't sign! If you sign, Don't be surprised!" (...of being jailed etc.)

For this company I would translate it this way "Don't contact them! If you do so, don't believe them! If you do so, don't think of going to work for them! If you do so, don't ever sign a contract with them! If you do so, don't be surprised how maltreated you can be in this otherwise attractive country!"

I would have to say that if you weren't smart enough to find a credible job here in China but were able to get a Z visa that, well, your not too smart. There are literally thousands of jobs out there, and laziness, the obvious culprit here, or ignorance, is no excuse for not following through and doing the proper research.

As for getting sucked in by these people, no, not your fault per say. However, waiting until you got here to find out their names was, well, stupid, no one will disagree. If you have waited until you get your personalized business cards to know the name of who your working for, your not seriously high on the IQ scale.

Also, Jilin province is notorious, and well known for all the scamsters that operate out of it.

In this case, I have to say that, though the people who hired you are well known scum, the bad situation you got into was totally 100% your fault.

Please folks, if your going to come work here, get the freaken name of your employer at the very least. Do some research into where you will be working. Ask for pictures of the campus so as to ascertain the identity of the school seperate from whatever you are being told. This is all common sense stuff, certainly getting their name is. Why you would not insist on that is beyond me.

Folks, stop settling for the first fly by night scamsters you come across when looking for work here. There are tons and tons of schools who will hire you if you only have a degree, real legite schools, not crap training centers. For Gods sake, just look at Daves esl cafe, there's tons of jobs there, most from actual schools.

This type of situation is completely avoidable, sad but avoidable.

Sadly, the reason why we were sucked in is because they had not put the name of the company on the website, so we found no information about it on the first round. Only after they gave us our business cards did we have the full and correct name of the company. Plus, we were desperate for a place to work that could give us a Z-visa so we were legal in China and making money. With no credible schools answering, we looked at recruitment centres and the like.

Oddly, when I looked for the post on the same website that we found them through, the post for a job offer is gone.

It doesn't matter to us now since we have quit being English teachers. It wasn't our thing, but the last thing we want is for anyone to fall in the same stupid trap. I can honestly say, I had an interesting foray into the world of ESL teachers, but I'm sticking with science.
