Re: New Bridge International, Beijing, KIEC International

"Still, the best advice that one can receive is: do due diligence. Accept the word of no individual, pro or con, and deal directly with as many of your contacts as possible. Accepting the word of unknown persons on the internet is tantamount to suicide."
I agree with the above totally. But don't forget that recruiters are unknown persons too.As for my implied criticism of the recruiter's English,it has emanated from the actual job ad itself, which is riddled with errors.Re my inside info, the source is a recruiter who stressed that there has been a more rigid application of employment regulations in the capital - these days in Beijing, where New Bridge International requires FT's,they must have Western degrees to obtain their foreign experts' certificates, without which they are ineligible for residence permits.Of course, you may ignore what I've posted;that's your choice.

Re: New Bridge International, Beijing, KIEC International

A 'nake' is, of course, as you well know, a typo for 'name.' If one had the time to point out all your mistakes, he would have little time for anything else.

At to your 'up - to - date inside info,' I seriously doubt this. At any rate, it only means that you are passing on second hand information that is likely not reliable for obvious reasons.

Still, the best advice that one can receive is: do due diligence. Accept the word of no individual, pro or con, and deal directly with as many of your contacts as possible. Accepting the word of unknown persons on the internet is tantamount to suicide.

Re: New Bridge International, Beijing, KIEC International

Re: New Bridge International, Beijing, KIEC International.Make of the 'profile' below as you will. But my analysis of the prospective employer is that Maggie of JIAOO Education Co. Ltd. works for the 'dominant Chinese partner in Hangzhou',and, judging by her 'English',she is Chinese.Furthermore,I reckon her company is in truth a Chinese recruiter that has forged some kind of relationship with a Nepalese company.Said recruiter must have 'special relationship' with the relevant authorities in the capital here in China.I say so because my up-to date inside info is that a prospective FT can no longer get a Z visa to teach in the PRC without a Western degree.Maybe F's will be the norm for those possibly slaving away in the future for said recruiter!
By the way,I'm at a loss re the meaning of 'Nake',as in item number 9 below. Can anyone out there enlighten me as to what it means?Maybe Maggie is the most qualified to do so.
Aforementioned profile as follows:
1. English Name - Kathmandu Infosys International Educational Consultancy (P) Ltd. (KIEC)
2. Official Company in Chinese - NA
3. Website: www.kathmanduinfosys.com
4. General Email Address of the company: info@kathmanduinfosys.com, school@kathmanduinfosys.com

6. Address: VP Marga Bldg., Putalisadak way to Dillibazar, Kathmandu City, Nepal
7.Company Phone Numbers: +977 1 4430556, +977 12003767
Native Speaker: +977 9806597875
8. Our company started as Online Job company less than 3 years ago and has been growing steadily. We now offer many services like:

Re: New Bridge International, Beijing, KIEC International

I think they are called *Profiled Recruiters* because they have their profiles at http://www.eslteachersboard.com/cgi-bin/recruiters/index.pl including KIEC International's profile at http://www.eslteachersboard.com/cgi-bin/recruiters/index.pl?read=14

Re: New Bridge International, Beijing, KIEC International

*Profiled Recruiter* -- NEW BRIDGE INTERNATIONAL - BEIJINGBy:ESL NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS - NO DEGREE NEEDED (KIEC INTERNATIONAL) <school@kathmanduinfosys.com>
The above ad states 'our affilate school'.But who is 'our'?Also,it's worth noting that the word kathmandu is part of that recruiter's e-mail address.Strange indeed! What's more,NEW BRIDGE INTERNATIONAL - BEIJING is labelled a *Profiled Recruiter* by this board, which could imply that it's not some fly-by-night operation. But I'm unsure as to how much creedence to give to that label.Taking into account the relatively high cost of living in Beijing,as well as the kind of unqualified and inexperienced teachers sought,I'd say the employment package is reasonable.
Unfortunately the ad doesn't specify whether the middle schools are junior or senior or both, and the 20-22 hours per week could turn out to be full 60-minute hours as opposed to 20-22 X 45 minutes, for example. One should ask about this before signing up.Finally,I reckon the ad is badly composed and full of misspellings - definitely a put-off for all but the most desperate jobseekers.
