Just to add that while I was working in Hegang,an FT from Ghana by the name of Henry who was forced to live with the Chinese boss and a male Chinese TA did a runner during the May Labour Week vacation.Not long after that,a Chinese TA called Katie did one too,because she was equally dissatisfied with her employment package - she snuck out of class and returned to her hometown,Harbin.
I suppose doing a runner is better than being preyed upon by a Chinese lion,Mr 'Lion' by name!
