Being one of the teachers that ducked and covered from a camera crew beating and police raid, I feel that I should reply to this thread. A problem exists somewhere between the school (Sacred Heart) and the government and this is the more factual of the information. Chinese business relationships called "Guan xi " are at play in this drama. Somewhere, somebody upset the balance of trust or honor and as a result professional educators are becoming the primary target for some unknown social slight that occurred between school and government. Blaming agents like go2teachenglish is like shooting blindly at the stars. It has nothing to do with us mortals, but rather a tea cup that was dropped 500 years ago. It is unfair to place the blame on the agents or the genuine educators that I have had the joy to meet , who in my experience were really trying to help and alleviate the situation as much as possible. Go2teachenglish has provided me with skills and development that I sorely needed entering into a foreign environment at a crucial stage of my career. It is with people like Paul that we only stood some chance of actually surviving the age old petty disputes that have made the Sacred Heart Keelung a battle ground for an inter-political pissing contest. But what else could they stick between the 5 o clock news and the latest typhoon development?

You have a strange attitude,if I may say so.Are you sure you don't have some kind of special relationship with the school in Taiwan you're teaching at?
Re your statement about people not being mentally equipped enough to handle the teaching in Taiwan,do you mean people who respect themselves to the extent that they do not allow themselves to be used and abused by their employers or others?I reckon they should steer well clear of your school in order to have a trouble-free existence.
As far as your statement re Silverboy is concerned,I can assure you he's no American - I reckon he'll consider it an insult to be miscalled one!
