Re: Lies, Damn Lies and Silverboy

HELLO!?!?!? Do you not believe that the horrible economic conditions/high unemployment in the U.S. (and other western countries) are yielding an abundance of FTs to seek teaching work in China and South Korea?

Therefore, Chinese/Korean employers are indeed taking advantage of this situation/trend and lowering salaries, benefits, etc. Quality teaching is not the paramount concern for most Chinese employers; rather "window dressing" is the key factor in luring students. Therefore, young and handsome/pretty will be used as marketing bait; and the younger, less-experienced the FT, the more maliable.

WAKE UP, people!

Silverboy DOES know what he's talking about. He is NOT lying! Where's the profit in lying?

Just like in America, the corporation/company's bottom line greatly eclipses experience and integrity.

The ones who challenge such ideas NEVER provide names and locations of schools that have wonderful terms and contracts, or management. Perhaps because very few exist in China or South Korea. SOMEBODY -- PLEASE name for me THREE schools where good working conditions, accomodation and educational integrity reign and I will shut up; but until that day comes (and I've been waiting for a VERY LONG time), I'll join Silverboy in continuing to warn folks about the perils and pitfalls of working in China and South Korea (especially).
