Re: The School, Kevin, Bipolar and Other Issues

FTs, in so many cases, are a big part of the problem. Blaming the Chinese side of things only is being shortsighted and mean spirited. Clear enough for you? Rant on, ranter. Your disciples like it, but those in the know think it pathetic.

I'll make it even more clear for you, and, at the same time, give you some more ammunition for your vehemence and vulgarity. In my opinion, of the approximately 180,000 FTs in China, about 75% should be shown the door due to their inappropriateness as teachers, their slothful ways, their lack of concern for their students and their extreme cultural insensitivity. Meanwhile, all language schools and colleges should be subjected to careful scrutiny before being allowed to continue teaching English as a Foreign Language, and no new schools should be allowed to open or be licensed without the same careful scrutiny.

The scam has gone on for way too long. Many FTs are willing participants in the scam. It's a travesty, and the unfortunate aspect of it is that there are good training schools, there are good language departments at colleges and there are many FTs whose reputations are being tarnished by those who are completely out of their league as teachers and totally misplaced as guides for the young people of China who are, for the most part, filled with hopes and dreams for their future and that of their country.

Spin it however you want, dude. Walk the popular walk for all the good it does you here in cyberspace. However, the truth is the truth and your own bitterness and bile won't change it.
