DitheringPitterPatter:

I generally steer clear of any places that profess to have "western" management, touting this as if it is a good thing, it isn't. In my experience you will often have the most problems with westerners in positions of power in China then you will a Chinese boss. It's like taking the prison inmate and all of a sudden making him Chief of prison security, flipping the whole power structure onto it's back, not a good idea to have such a person in a position of authority.

Stay away from western bosses in China, it's quite possible they are worse than their Chinese counterparts, beware.

Silverboy:

So to sum up, I agree with you totally, honest and serious FT's must avoid Western owned and managed "schools" in China.

Based on two experiences with expat managers in China, and one especilly horrific pair of self-serving, boss-bootlicking, expat prison wardens in Korea (known as "bully" and "sleazy"), I second, third, and fourth those emotions!

In my opinion, these guys are the ESL equivalent of hit-and-run drivers.
