As far as I can tell, the author of the original post is either misinformed or worked at the school a long, long time ago. I worked at Lu Dong University for 2 years (2007-2009) and found the school to be a pleasant place to work. The staff are friendly and helpful both with academic and personal matters, and the city is a great place to live. I taught freshmen and sophomore students during my 2 years there (oral English and extensive reading) and found them to be respectful and courteous. I've been in China for 5 years and lived in 3 different cities (Beijing, Changchun and Yantai) and this university is a great place to work, both because of the city and the folks at the school.

I would challenge the author to post some pictures or other facts concerning his employment there.

If anyone is interested in studying Chinese, I've created a small website reviewing books and materials I've used and found helpful during my 2 years of study in Northeast Normal University, Changchun. Click on the below link to go there.

My wife and I are currently teaching at Ludong University, and we have been for the past two years. In our experience, the school has always treated us fairly and kept to their word. They have always paid us the correct amount on time, if not early. Steve is very easy to work with and incredibly helpful to all the foreign teachers. For my wife and I, this has been a wonderful experience and we would recommend it to anyone.

I taught English at Ludong University, Foreign Language School for six months in 2007-08. I had a great time and would recommend the experience to any English teacher. There were teachers from England and US and the atmosphere and conditions were fine. Ken (Sydney, Australia)

As the deputy chief of the foreign experts's section of Ludong University, I have been working here since 2005. I have never worked with you and I have never heard of your name before. Had you signed a contract with that Mr. Bi? Actually, our school never had a president called Mr. Bi. How you can prove you have worked here? If you're a righteous man, could you post your information here?

I'm very surprised to read your message. To tell you the truth, I'm in charge of hiring foreign teachers for Ludong University and I hope you can be honest on this issue. Can you answer me the following questions to prove you were hired in our university:
When did you work in our university?
Which department did you teach in our university?
Who did you work with in that department?
What courses did you teach?
Can tell me the names of any of our former teachers to prove you had worked together with them?
If you think it is better to talk with me directly through email or skype, please contact me by stevechang6@yahoo.com or stevezhang6(skype ID).

Do not teach at this University.

I was one of many foreigners recruited to teach a summer English course here, and Mr. Bi, the "school President" promised us free accommodation and board, plus 5000 RMB at the completion of the contract, and booked train tickets on top of the compensation.

At the end, Mr. Bi called us to have a dinner together to "discuss the details", and after the feasting and drinking, he shortchanged us by 1200 RMB, and we did not receive our train tickets.

Ludong University gives its province and country a very bad name. Take this as a warning, and do not go here.
